The Parichy Lab (dparichy.as.virginia.edu/) at University of Virginia seeks a Research Assistant or Research Associate for studies of stem cell and regenerative biology employing methods of developmental genetics and genomics, using both zebrafish and amphibian systems.
The laboratory has dedicated, state of the art facilities for molecular biology, genomics, transgenesis, CRISPR/Cas9 screening, and high resolution time-lapse imaging. The group is affiliated with Departments of Biology and Cell Biology, each having highly interactive faculty and trainees housed in outstanding facilities.
The position includes numerous opportunities for professional growth, mentoring and outreach.
Applicants must have at least 2 years of research experience and skills in molecular biology. Experience in genomics (e.g., RNA-seq, next generation sequencing library preparation), bioinformatics (especially in R), microscopy, or developmental model organisms are desirable. Applicants having or anticipating bachelor’s, master’s or doctoral degrees are welcome.
