Postdoctoral Position - Washington University School of Medicine, St Louis

postdoctoral research position is available in the Department of Otolaryngology at the Washington University School of Medicine in St Louis.

The Sheets Lab is working to understand how specific pathological changes occur in hair cells exposed to traumatic noise, and to identify pathways that promote repair. We address these questions using zebrafish as a model for hearing and deafness.

Experimental approaches in the lab include molecular biology, confocal microscopy, CRISPR/Cas9, immunohistochemistry, Ca2+ imaging, and live-imaging of subcellular structures and metabolic indicators. Experience with electrophysiology and/or behavior studies considered a plus.

Our lab is part of an exceptional and collaborative group of researchers affiliated with Fay & Carl Simons Center for the Biology of Hearing and Deafness. We are also members of the Washington University Zebrafish Consortium, which promotes zebrafish research and supports one of the largest state-of-the-art zebrafish facilities in the world.

Interested applicants please send a curriculum vitae, a brief description of your research interests, and the names of three references to:
