A position is available in the laboratory of Professor Kenneth Poss to study skin regeneration in zebrafish. The job is offered through the Division of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and will be a collaborative position with a surgeon-scientist. The project is aimed at understanding the fascinating biology of zebrafish regeneration in order to develop new therapies for human wound healing and skin defects. Laboratory duties will include molecular biology work, generation of transgenic animals, surgery, imaging, and histology. Opportunities for authorship on publications and travel to scientific conferences will be available. Creative, independent scientific work will be encouraged. The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in the biological sciences and at least 2 years of laboratory experience. We welcome ambitious applicants with enthusiasm for regenerative biology and translational medicine. Please send a cover letter, CV, and a list of 3 or more references to david.a.brown@duke.edu.
