Postdoctoral Position - Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Singapore

A postdoctoral position is available in the lab of Prof Lena Ho in Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School situated in the heart of Singapore, on a campus where basic scientists and clinicians work closely together to advance the frontiers of medical biology.

 

About the Lab:

Current research in the Endogenous Peptides Lab is focused on the discovery and functionalization of novel peptides encoded by small open reading frames (sORFs) in the genome. This effort is aimed at finding small peptides that exert potent effects by as functioning as growth factors, hormones, morphogens etc and investigating their contribution to embryonic development and adult physiology.

Required skills for the job :

  • Experience in zebrafish as a model organism for studying developmental processes or adult physiology, particularly related to the cardiovascular or muscular systems.
  • Genetic manipulation in zebrafish using Crisprs or Talens.
  • Molecular biology and phenotyping techniques related to zebrafish.

 

Prerequisites

-PhD in a related scientific area.

-Proven track record as measured by high impact publications.

-Highly motivated, and aptitude to manage complex fish colonies with excellent record keeping and best practices.
