Assistant Professor in Developmental Biology

The Department of Biological Science at Florida State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the broadly-defined area of Developmental Biology. The Department is interested in individuals using a variety of approaches in any experimental system to understand fundamental developmental processes or those of biomedical significance. Successful candidates are expected to establish a vibrant, extramurally funded research program and contribute to undergraduate and graduate education. The Department of Biological Science is a diverse and interactive group with 47 tenure-track faculty members in 3 graduate areas: Cell and Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, and Ecology & Evolution. We encourage candidates to apply who complement existing strengths in developmental genetics, virology, epigenetics, chromosome biology, neuroscience, structural biology, cell biology and evolution. Researchers have access to excellent facilities including a state-of-the-art imaging facility with a Titan Krios electron microscope, confocal live cell imaging and super-resolution 3D-SIM, as well as flow cytometry and mass spectrometry facilities, the Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine and the National High Magnet Field Laboratory.
