Postdoctoral Fellow - University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC), Oklahoma City

The Frazer laboratory at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center (OUHSC) in Oklahoma City seeks a 3rd post-doctoral fellow to join our group. We study lymphocytic leukemias and lymphomas using zebrafish models and human tissue culture, with emphasis on the genetic events that cause oncogenesis and resistance to therapy.

An energetic, independent, and creative person who loves learning will be a perfect fit for our group of 7. We like thinking and doing science, and also having fun outside the lab. I am committed to mentoring junior scientists to help them achieve their career goals. Projects developed as a post-doc can be taken upon leaving the lab. Applicants must have a PhD and/or MD, and experience with zebrafish, genetics, or molecular biology is a plus.

My lab belongs to the Depts. of Pediatrics, Cell Biology, and Microbiology & Immunology, and OUHSC’s Stephenson Cancer Center. We also participate in the Chemical & Functional Genomics Program at Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation. Our webpages can be accessed at: http://www.oumedicine.com/frazer-lab-group/frazer-lab

OUHSC is a large research campus with multiple schools (graduate, medical, dental, allied-health, nursing, etc.). Our lab is well-equipped, with core facilities readily available. We also have a fantastic facility manager who coordinates our fish care, breeding, IVF, etc., so you can focus on experiments.

Oklahoma City is the 27th largest US city (~1.3 million people) and capital of Oklahoma. Its people are culturally & ethnically diverse. Since OKC’s cost of living is very low, post-docs can live well here.

Please contact me by email & attach your CV if you’d like to discuss the position further.
