Applicants are invited for a tenure-track position at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Molecular Genetics and Microbiology in the Duke University School of Medicine. The department provides a focus for a vast range of research activities from genetic and genomic analysis using microbial, invertebrate, and mammalian systems, to viral, fungal, and bacterial pathogenesis.  Current strengths in genetics in the department include recombination and repair, chromosome structure and function, sensory/behavioral genetics, developmental genetics, human genetics/genomics, and animal models of biology and disease.   

We seek an individual who will develop an outstanding research program using vertebrate genetics to address a significant biological or disease-related question.  The applicant should employ human genetics or any other vertebrate model genetic species.  The facilities and start-up support provided by the Department are excellent. The development of multiple interdisciplinary programs at Duke University affords a rich environment for scientific interactions across the entire campus.
