ASSISTANT FACILITIES MANAGER:  The Zebrafish Shared Resource at the Duke University School of Medicine in Durham, North Carolina has an immediate opening for a full-time Assistant Facilities Manager to provide aquaculture support and help oversee a husbandry staff supporting three facilities that collectively house over 12,000 aquaria.  This shared resource offers aquaculture services to several groups of biomedical researchers using zebrafish as a model organism, including Ken Poss (tissue regeneration), Michel Bagnat (organogenesis), John Rawls (host-microbe interactions), and Nico Katsanis (models of human disease).

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in a scientific discipline related to aquatics or animal care. Two to three years of work experience involving aquaculture equipment and maintenance, fish health and husbandry, and water chemistry is expected, with experience in zebrafish husbandry preferred.
