Postdoctoral Research Fellow - MDIBL

 

The Rieger Lab (riegerlab.mdibl.org) seeks a motivated postdoctoral research fellow to analyze mechanisms of sensory axon de- and regeneration under conditions of chemotherapy and/or skin injury with emphasis on the role of epidermis in this process. The project will utilize in vivo imaging techniques, molecular and biochemical analyses in zebrafish and mice. Resources for this project are available at MDI Biological Laboratory and the Jackson Laboratory.

The successful candidate needs to have a strong background in developmental, cell or molecular biology and experience with in vivo imaging. Knowledge in pharmacology, neuroscience, epithelial biology, cell culture, biochemistry, electron microscopy and zebrafish and/or mouse biology will be of advantage. Postdoctoral fellows are expected to pursue independent NIH and foundation funding opportunities and must be eligible to apply. Good written and oral communication skills are essential, along with excellent organizational skills.

Candidates should have a PhD or MD/PhD in Developmental, Cell or Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, or a closely related subject area. The Rieger Lab is committed to scientific excellence, collaborative work, student training, public outreach, and active mentorship for professional growth.
