Postdoctoral position- University of Massachusetts Amherst

The Downes Lab seeks a self-motivated postdoctoral fellow to be a core member of a funded, collaborative project. In this three-lab project, we aim to use a combination of genetic, photochemical, physiological and behavioral approaches to examine the role of GABA receptors in regulating locomotor behavior. The successful candidate would possess a strong research background in neurobiology, imaging approaches and/or zebrafish genetics.

Good written and oral communication skills are essential, along with excellent organizational skills. The postdoctoral fellow will also be expected to pursue fellowship grants as appropriate.

Candidates should have a PhD in Neuroscience, Developmental Biology, Molecular Biology, or a closely related subject area. The Downes Lab is committed to scientific excellence, diversity, public outreach, and active mentorship for professional growth.
