Job Title: Assistant Professor in Biology

Background: The Department of Biology, College of Arts & Sciences, Loyola University Chicago (LUC) seeks qualified candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position with research experience/focus in Cell & Molecular Biology, beginning in the 2016-2017 academic year.  

We are particularly interested in researchers in the areas of infectious disease, pathophysiology, cell signaling, and cell physiology and metabolism, although other research specialties consistent with teaching cell and molecular biology are also welcome. The new faculty member will contribute to undergraduate and graduate teaching in Cell Biology and course(s) in their area of expertise.

The Department of Biology has 45 full-time faculty serving over 1600 undergraduate majors and students from associated university programs at the Lake Shore Campus on Chicago’s north side. For more information on the department please visit its web site at http://www.luc.edu/biology.

Duties and Responsibilities: This is a full-time, tenure-track position that involves teaching two courses per semester. Faculty are expected to run a productive research laboratory, involve undergraduate and graduate students in their research, and be competitive for external funding.

Minimum Qualifications: The successful candidate for this position will have a PhD, postdoctoral research experience, and strong potential for teaching at the college level.
