Aquaculture Specialist I (per diem) - Boston Children's Hospital

The Aquatic Resources Program (ARP) at Boston Children’s Hospital (BCH) is seeking a part time (per diem) Aquaculture Specialist I, effective immediately. 

 

The Aquaculture Specialist I (per-diem) is responsible for providing high quality daily care and maintenance of fish used in research at BCH.  Under the direction of the ARP Program Manager, this position involves significant and varied technical activities to support the management of aquaculture facilities and laboratory populations of fish.  The position primarily involves coverage of weekend and holiday shifts, and occasional spot coverage during the normal work-week, schedule permitting.

 

The specialist will perform operational, husbandry, and customer service functions and will be responsible for operating multiple recirculating aquaculture systems and ensuring that optimal animal health and productivity is sustained, all in accordance with federal and institutional regulations and policies.

 

To qualify, you must have a Bachelor's degree in Biology or a closely related field, or 2-3 years of experience working in an aquaculture environment.
