Research Technician - University of Georgia

A research technician position is available in the Steet laboratory at the University of Georgia. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance and care of the lab’s aquatic facility. This includes daily duties such as feeding, water and system maintenance, establishing crosses, general animal husbandry, and performing PCR-based methods to genotype various fish lines. In addition to facility-related duties this position also includes bench research.  This typically includes tissue sectioning and staining, in situ hybridization, and western blot analyses. Although animal experience is preferred, it is not required.  A firm understanding of genetics and molecular biology is essential.
