Postdoctoral Fellow - Biology Program at NYU Abu Dhabi, to study ER stress and fatty liver disease

Highly motivated and collaborative applicants are sought for a position of Postdoctoral Fellow in the group of Dr. Kirsten Sadler Edepli in the Biology Program at NYU Abu Dhabi.   Projects focused on the relationship between the unfolded protein response (UPR; i.e. the ER stress pathway) and lipid metabolism in zebrafish will require both an ability to undertake both cellular and classic genetics approaches in zebrafish combined with imaging approaches to understand and how UPR activation and cell stress contributes to fatty liver disease. We seek good natured and highly driven scientists who enjoy working as a member of a team and who will be able to lead a collaborative project involving zebrafish genetics, genomics and imaging approaches. Successful applicants will have completed their Ph.D. or equivalent training in developmental biology, biochemistry or genetics prior to June, 2015. The ability to communicate ideas in a clear and compelling fashion demonstrated through having a first-author publication from previous research experiences and having participated in scientific meetings is essential.

Candidates with the availability to start prior to June, 2015 will be requested to begin work in the Sadler lab in New York City and then move to Abu Dhabi in the fall or winter of 2015-16.
