The Biological Services Unit (BSU) provide facilities, services and advice for all research scientists within King's College London who need to carry out research using animals.
Such work is ethically reviewed, carefully regulated and kept to a minimum within the overall objectives of advancing knowledge in biomedical research. Alternatives to research involving animals are always used where possible.

The successful candidate will support the Zebrafish Facility Manager in a facility comprising of over 3700 tanks and deliver an excellent level of service to research departments, while engendering a culture of care within the two facilities.

You will join a small technical team of six to care for zebrafish, working alongside along-side skilled professionals committed to finding new cures for major diseases. Excellent communication skills will be required and you will be expected to contribute towards maintaining a team ethos. An in depth knowledge of fish biosecurity, operation of barriers within a fish facility is an essential requirement of the post, along with the ability or organise and run complex breeding programmes. Experience of zebrafish genotyping, sperm cryopreservation is also desirable.
