Postdoctoral position- Neural Basis of Learning in Zebrafish - Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, Frankfurt

The Schuman lab (Max Planck Institute for Brain Research, Frankfurt) is looking for postdoctoral fellows to examine the neural substrates of learning and memory (at both the synaptic and circuit level- see Aizenberg et al., Hinz et al.) in larval zebrafish.  Projects will use and development of behavioral learning paradigms as well as imaging and potentially electrophysiology. The ideal candidate has a Ph.D.  is an independent and creative thinker with a strong work ethic and significant experience using zebrafish, molecular biology and imaging. This position is a unique opportunity to work in a highly interdisciplinary and collaborative environment that is equipped with a new, state-of-the-art fish facility as well as ample imaging and electrophysiology resources.  The lab is located in a beautiful new building in Frankfurt (Riedberg) on the natural sciences campus of the Goethe University and across the street from the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics.  Start date is flexible.
