Postdoctoral research fellow position in Disease Model for Muscular Dystrophies - University of Pisa

We welcome applications from highly motivated candidates who wish to join
our group and contribute to our ongoing research on the development of
zebrafish disease model in neuromuscular dystrophies (NMDs).

The aim of the project is to use validated disease model for nutraceutic
and small molecule screening and to generate new CRISP/Cas9 models of
NMDs. The project will combine both in vivo and in vitro investigations
and involves molecular biology methodologies, microinjection,
birefringence and locomotion assays, and light- and fluorescence-microscopy.

The applicant should have mastered techniques in fields of histology and
molecular biology. The ability to work independently is essential.
Previous experience in zebrafish genetics (experience in generating
transgenic zebrafish) is strongly preferred. Proficiency in English is required.

Starting date: spring 2015.
