Postdoctoral Fellowship - IBMC, Oporto, Portugal

A PostDoctoral Fellowship is available at the recently formed Vertebrate Development and Regeneration group, at IBMC (Oporto -Portugal), under Dr. José Bessa's supervision. We are interested in a highly motivated researcher that will apply Genetics and Genomics approaches to the study of gene's transcriptional regulation during vertebrate pancreas development, using the zebrafish as a model organism. Candidates must hold a PhD in Developmental Biology or related field, a strong track record of published research and good communication skills. Preference is given to candidates with experience with the zebrafish model or with vertebrate pancreas development.


IBMC is a leading and dynamic research institution in the field of Life and Health Sciences and it offers state-of-the-art facilities, including an Advanced Light Microscopy, a Flow Cytometry and a recently built zebrafish facility (http://www.ibmc.up.pt/research/research-facilities). It is located in Oporto, the second largest Portuguese city and one of the oldest European centers. Built along the hillsides of the Douro river, its 2000-year history landscapes are registered as a World Heritage Site by Unesco.
