Research Associate, Postdoctoral
Institute of Neuroscience

Research Associate Postdoctoral Fellow positions become available on an ongoing basis within different research groups in the Institute of Neuroscience (ION) at the University of Oregon. The purpose of this notice is to inform prospective postdoctoral fellow applicants how to apply for such a training position.

Please see the ION webpage at http://www.neuro.uoregon.edu/ for information regarding the type of research being done in individual research laboratories and within the ION generally. Research associate postdoctoral fellow positions are research training positions, with the possibility of renewal for up to five years depending on need, funding, and performance. As research training positions, prospective applicants should directly contact the faculty member with whom they would like to train. It is expected that research interests of research associate postdoctoral fellow applicants will complement and build on research being done by the faculty member with whom the fellow is training. It is generally assumed that applicants will apply to federal and private funding agencies to fund their salary during the postdoctoral training period. A Ph.D. in a Biological science or related field is required or would need to be completed prior to appointment to a postdoctoral training position. Candidates who promote and enhance diversity are strongly desired. Salary is dependent upon experience and available funding from postdoctoral fellowship agencies.

In order to be considered for a Research Associate Postdoctoral Fellow position, you must submit the following application materials. Please identify the ION faculty member with whom you have an interest in training and send a letter of application, CV, and contact information for three professional references to: Institute of Neuroscience, Attn: Jacob Lewis, 1254 University of Oregon, Eugene, OR 97403-1254. Alternatively, you may submit application materials via email to Mr. Lewis at jlewis3@uoregon.edu. Refer to Posting # 130610 in your correspondence. Applicants will be screened as needs or opportunities arise. The pool will remain active until 8/31/2014.

U.S. citizenship, permanent resident status, or eligibility for employment under prevailing U.S. immigration laws required. Positions may be subject to a criminal background check.
