Senior Scientist - Teleos Therapeutics, Boston, MA

Teleos Therapeutics is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering novel treatments for CNS disorders. Located in Medford, MA, Teleos uses automated phenotyping technologies and large-scale behavior-based chemical screens in zebrafish to discover novel classes of neuroactive drugs.

Overview Of Position:

We are seeking an experienced scientist to conduct drug discovery research in a highly interactive biotech startup environment. The Senior Scientist will be responsible for:

• Designing and conducting experiments in zebrafish behavior-based neuroactive drug discovery

• Setting up, validating, and trouble-shooting novel high-throughput behavior models in 96-well format

• Providing technical solutions for the development of these new models

• Keeping detailed records and managing large data sets

• Contributing to the writing of research proposals and reports

Minimum qualifications:  Ph.D. degree in neuroscience, pharmacology or related field, with hands-on experience in drug discovery. A working knowledge of neuropharmacology and behavioral testing is required. Applicant must have a track record of productivity and teamwork.

Preferred qualifications:  Extensive experience in high-throughput screening, behavioral and molecular pharmacology is preferred. Experience working with zebrafish is a plus. Broad knowledge in drug discovery and drug screening procedures, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and proven leadership and management ability in the pharmaceutical industry are preferred. Programming experience in MATLAB or equivalent language is highly desirable. Interest in statistical analysis of large data sets, device fabrication and engineering.
