Project Manager/Lead Scientist - Teleos Therapeutics, Boston, MA

Teleos Therapeutics is a pharmaceutical company dedicated to discovering novel treatments for CNS disorders. Located in Medford, MA, Teleos uses automated phenotyping technologies and large-scale behavior-based chemical screens in zebrafish to discover novel classes of neuroactive drugs.

Overview Of Position:

We are seeking an experienced project manager to lead a drug discovery project in a highly interactive biotech startup environment. The Project Manager/Lead Scientist will be responsible for:

• Managing a small research team of biologists, drug discovery scientists, and engineers

• Designing and conducting experiments in zebrafish behavior-based neuroactive drug discovery

• working with engineers and programmers to build, validate, and trouble-shoot novel high-throughput behavior models in 96-well format

• Providing technical solutions for the development of these new models

• Interfacing with Teleos management, advisors, and external partners

• Statistical analysis of large data sets

Minimum qualifications: 
Ph.D. Degree in neuropharmacology or related fields, with hands-on experience in drug discovery. Working knowledge of neuropharmacology and behavioral testing. Capacity to design experiments, effectively document results, analyze data and write research proposals/reports. Project management experience involving at least 2-5 subordinates. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred qualifications: 
Extensive experience in high-throughput screening, behavioral and molecular pharmacology. Broad knowledge in drug discovery and drug screening procedures. Proven leadership and management ability in a research team in pharmaceutical industry. Programming experience in MATLAB or equivalent language. Interest in statistical analysis of large data sets, device fabrication and engineering.
