Postdoctoral Positions - Zebrafish Functional Neuroscience - Scott Lab

The laboratory of Dr. Ethan Scott at the University of Queensland seeks one or more postdoctoral researchers to strengthen the group's program in behavioural circuits neuroscience. The lab focuses on questions related to the zebrafish nervous system, and uses a range of techniques including cellular morphometrics, single-cell labelling, functional imaging, optogenetics, and behaviour, principally targeting the neural mechanisms that underlie motor learning and coordination. For more information on the Scott Lab including their experimental approaches and publications please see www.uq.edu.au/scottlab.

These positions are well suited for a transition to independence, and as such, candidates are encouraged to consider the type of project that they would hope to develop and advance while in the lab. Such ideas can be presented briefly in the application cover letter. While such projects should fit within the lab's general approach (development, anatomy, or function of the zebrafish nervous system), a diversification of the lab's techniques or experimental questions would be welcome. Candidates with expertise in advanced microscopy, optics, image analysis, or behaviour will be viewed favourably.
